Curata is a content marketing software company launched in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 2010. Curata uses machine learning, natural language processing, and artificial intelligence to power two software platforms used by organizations large and small around the globe to achieve their marketing goals: Curata Content Curation Software (Curata CCS) and Curata Content Marketing Platform (Curata CMP).
Curata CCS allows marketers to easily discover and share industry-specific content to blogs, social channels, newsletters and more.
Curata CMP answers the biggest question for content marketers: "How is my content strategy influencing pipeline, leads, and revenue?" Curata CMP's editorial calendar and powerful analytics enables marketers to optimize and scale their content strategy and create better content, faster.
Curata was founded on the premise that machine learning and natural language processing can bring significant value from the tsunami of online content being produced, making it easier to more efficiently create better, more relevant content for consumers.
What is Content Marketing?
It's marketing for people that instinctively ignore and filter out the disruptive 'hard sell' of traditional advertising and marketing, which is most of us!
Rather than content that talks about why a company or its products or services are so great, content marketing is content a prospect finds valuable. It's content aimed at a reader's needs and wants, focused on what they care about. Instead of the annoying and distracting ads around content—it's the content itself. Content marketing doesn't explicitly promote a brand, but aims to stimulate interest in an organization's products or services by creating, publishing, and distributing content for a targeted audience online.
Content marketing is a long term strategy that aims to build a relationship with customers and potential customers by giving them something valuable for free, no strings attached. So when it comes to buying time, a customer A) is already aware of an organization's brand, and B) already trusts and respects that brand. Valuable, informative, entertaining content can include blogs, videos, white papers, podcasts, infographics, webinars, social media, and more.
Businesses use content marketing to generate leads, expand their customer base, generate or increase online sales, increase brand awareness or credibility, and engage an online community of users.

Who is Curata?
Our Management Team
Pawan is an accomplished entrepreneur, marketer and technologist. He was a finalist for the 2014 MarketingProfs B2B Marketer of the Year, and named in Boston Business Journal's 40 under 40. Pawan previously worked at Google, Microsoft and other startups and holds an S.B. and M.Eng. in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
VP of Marketing
Amber is a sales enablement focused marketer, responsible for scaling Curata's marketing processes, along with brand building, lead nurturing, partner marketing, and demand generation. Prior to Curata Amber led marketing teams at Upserve, SnapApp, and Wordstream, and worked at Eloqua, Unica, and Ardence. Amber has a BS in Marketing and Psychology from Bryant University.
VP of Engineering
Jeff runs Curata's engineering team. Before joining Curata, Jeff co-founded Financial Diligence Networks, an online platform used by hundreds of hedge funds and their investors to connect and share information securely. Prior to that, he was the Global Director of Digital Products at Vistaprint. He received a BS in Computer Science from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.
Senior Director of Sales
Randy has run Curata's Sales team since 2011, during which time he authored an Amazon #1 bestselling sales book. He has spent nearly two decades in a sales career across various industries. Randy has held every role in sales, from knocking on residential doors, to sales management ranks, Head of Sales, and everything in between. Randy studied Criminal Justice and Philosophy at Roger Williams University in Rhode Island.
Head of Customer Success
Matt is responsible for helping customers get maximum value from Curata software along with advancing customer retention strategy. He previously led teams at Hootsuite, uberVU, and Compete (Millward Brown Digital). Prior to transitioning into customer success, Matt spent six years in sales and sales leadership roles. He holds a BS in Journalism from West Virginia University.

Gururaj "Desh" Deshpande
Gururaj is the President and Chairman of Sparta Group LLC. Dr. Deshpande has founded several successful companies including Cascade Communications and Sycamore Networks. Dr. Deshpande holds a B. Tech. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology - Madras, an M.E. from the University of New Brunswick in Canada, and Ph.D from Queens University in Canada. Dr. Deshpande serves as a life-member of the MIT Corporation.
Eric is an entrepreneur, a director and advisor to several firms, a research associate at MIT, and consultant at Draper Laboratories. Mr. Swanson has authored more than 180 technical papers and holds over 25 US patents and numerous foreign patents. Mr. Swanson holds a B.S. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and an M.S. from MIT both in electrical engineering.

Jason Miller leads global content and social initiatives for LinkedIn Marketing Solutions helping marketers understand how to use LinkedIn to achieve their marketing goals and deliver real ROI. He is the author of the Amazon #1 Best Seller Welcome to the Funnel. Previously he was the senior manager of social media strategy at Marketo and responsible for leading the company's global content and social media efforts. Jason is a frequent contributor to top marketing blogs such as Content Marketing Institute, Social Media Examiner, Marketing Profs, Copyblogger, and has presented at numerous industry conferences including Dreamforce, Content Marketing World, Social Media Marketing World , Social Fresh, Microsoft Convergence, Inbound, and more.
Mark Roberge is the former CRO of Hubspot and author of the bestseller "The Sales Acceleration Formula: Using Data, Technology, and Inbound Selling to go from $0 to $100 Million". Roberge has an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management and a BSE in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University. Roberge is now a Senior Lecturer at Harvard Business School.
Larry Kim is the founder of WordStream, a PPC marketing software and services company managing over a half Billion dollars in ad spend for thousands of customers world-wide.
Chris Chiodo is the former Chief Architect at Tapjoy, a mobile advertising and app monetization platform with over one billion app installs. He brings years of experience with scaling engineering and architecture from his time working at Software as a Service (SaaS) companies Hyp, Viximo, InnerWireless, PanGo Networks, BEA Systems, and Cisco Systems.
