Expat Sales Star Ward Parry Joins Curata as VP of Sales


Ward Parry, VP of Sales at CurataBOSTON—Local tech startup Curata Inc. has announced the appointment of Ward Parry to the newly created position of vice president of sales. Parry is responsible for developing scalable sales processes and driving revenue growth at the rapidly expanding content marketing company, which has tripled its employee count in the last 18 months.

“We’re very excited to have Ward on board to drive leads and revenue for our customers and Curata,” said CEO Pawan Deshpande. “We’re counting on Ward’s analytical, data-driven mindset and experience in creating processes to catalyze further growth and accelerate Curata’s expansion.”

Hailing from England, Parry has led sales teams at startup environments in expansion situations in London and the greater Boston area. As vice president of sales at Newton, MA-based SnapApp, an interactive content creation platform for marketers that recently raised $12 million in Series A funding, Parry grew the sales team by 70%, optimized sales process and reporting, and delivered 100% year over year growth. At the Journal of Visualized Experiments (JoVE) in Cambridge MA, the world's first peer-reviewed scientific video platform, he took a team of five sales managers and hired, trained, developed and built out four global offices. Library sales revenue increased over 1500% within four years—unheard of growth for an academic publication.

Over the past decade Ward has also driven sales growth in the financial hub of London at The Guardian—the fifth most widely read online newspaper in the world, as well as global communications and advertising giant Saatchi & Saatchi.
