Pawan Deshpande

Pawan Deshpande is the founder and CEO of Curata. Pawan is responsible for the company's vision, management and advanced development initiatives. His work at Curata has been recognized through the 2010 Boston Business Journal's 40 under 40 Award, and through the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council's 2012 Sales & Marketing Technology of the Year Award. Pawan has held software engineering positions at Microsoft, Google and other startups where he was awarded patents in social networking and machine transliteration areas.

Pawan is a regular speaker at various marketing, entrepreneurship, research related conferences. In the past few years, he has spoken at many events and webinars such as the American Marketing Association, SXSW, Online Marketing Connect, Content Marketing World, Content Marketing Strategies among others. He has also conducted courses through the University of Western Ontario, Marketing Profs, and the Online Marketing Institute.

Education

Pawan earned his S.B. and M. Eng. in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His graduate thesis in the area of Natural Language Processing earned the Dimitris N. Chorafas Foundation Prize, and the Charles and Jennifer Johnson Award for Outstanding Master of Engineering Thesis in Computer Science. He has published and presented research papers in conferences including Association for Computational Linguistics, Empirical Methods for Natural Language Processing, and the American Medical Informatics Association.
